Cattails – Wilderness Bushcraft Survival Firestarter

An excellent source of a natural firestarting material is cattails. The flowery spike at the top of the plant has a cottony fluff inside. The fluff on the cattails has the seeds attached and is a means to distribute the seeds across the landscape by being wind blown.
When gathered, a small amount of fluff easily ignites when sparks make contact.
