How to Build a 70 Pound No Heat PVC Longbow for Under 20 Dollars

Hey everyone! A while ago I showed you how to build a 40 pound no heat bow. I didn’t do any follow up videos on that bow, so today I’m going to building a similar bow. This one pulls 70 pounds at 28 inches and is a hard-hitting longbow.

We’re going to be building and finishing this bow. I’ll show you guys how to use pipe insulation and a wire clamp to create a comfortable handle with arrow shelf. The handle also helps cut down on some of the hand shock.

The fiberglass core of this bow can be used in different lengths of pipe to get different draw weights or reach different draw lengths. You can see a chart at 3:00 .Keep in mind that some lengths are not practical. When made too long, this bow tends to gets more hand shock and loses performance. When made too short, the bow stacks near the end of the draw and doesn’t perform its best.

Next time we’ll build a set of arrows to go with this bow. The arrows will be made with craft/hardware store items and don’t require any archery specific supplies.

Thanks for watching and enjoy!
